M31, the Andromeda Galaxy, M32 and M110, with the Canon Digital
Rebel XTi (400D) CCD and DSLR Astrophotography by Tim Tasto and Becky Tasto (Please
be patient while the images load)
(Adjust brightness and contrast on your monitor for best viewing) Here
is our shot of M31, the Andromeda Galaxy with companion galaxies M32
and M110, taken with the Canon Digital Rebel XTi. This shot was "first
light" for this camera. The telescope used was our Orion 80ED refractor
on a Meade LXD55 mount. Guiding was manual with a 50mm guidescope. The image has
been drastically reduced from its original 10-megapixel size for
display on this web page. A small copy of the raw stack is included
below the image for reference.
Here is a
small copy of the raw, unprocessed stack used to produce the shot of
M31 and companion galaxies above. The original image is 3888 x 2592
pixels...much too big for this webpage!
