Here is our shot of M42, the Orion Nebula, M43, its small companion and NGC-1977, the Running Man Nebula, taken with the Canon Digital Rebel XTi. The telescope used was our 8" Meade LXD55 SN on a Meade LXD55 mount. The image has been drastically reduced from its original 10-megapixel size for display on this web page. A small copy of the raw stack is included below the image for reference. On a side note, my wife Becky dragged me out of bed at 2:30am to get this shot. Though I was not too happy about it at the time, she had already set everything up outside except the telescope, so I was obliged to comply. I am now glad that I did.

Here is a small copy of the raw, unprocessed stack used to produce the shot of M42 and companions above. The original image is 3888 x 2592 pixels...much too big for this webpage!
