NGC869 and NGC884, the Double Cluster in Perseus, with the Canon Digital Rebel XTi (400D) CCD and DSLR Astrophotography by Tim Tasto and Becky Tasto (Please
be patient while the images load)
(Adjust brightness and contrast on your monitor for best viewing) Here is our shot of NGC-869 and
NGC-884, the Double Cluster in Perseus, with the Canon Digital Rebel
XTi. The telescope used was our Orion 80ED APO refractor on a Meade
LXD55 mount. The image has been drastically reduced from its original
10-megapixel size for display on this web page. Though this is not the
most dramatic object to photograph, I was surprized that the entire
double cluster fit in a single frame. This object, however, is one that
I think looks better "live" through the telescope than in pictures.
