One of the pleasures of working in photography is the layering of experience. The picture can be simultaneously a factual representation of an object or person or a scene and at the same time an image loaded with sensations and memories for myself and the viewer.

With conventional photography, the image is somewhat fixed in my mind and many decisions are already made. Cropping, print size and contrast are important, but the image, good or bad, is there on the negative, one decision that's settled.

Digital photography gives me the freedom to alter the composition and content of the image. The process moves me closer to a collage- like process.

My digital work is now being exhbited online in the Bradley University show, "Digital Photography '97, Re-visioning the Human Form" .
