I think this is a very noble thing to do, of course. But he's rather limited in his approach. He's confining his works to the members of one species. And over all, let's face it, if there's a species out there that doesn't seem in danger of being endangered, that'd be those darn primates.
Meanwhile, there are a lot of animals out there who really need help. I don't see how they've survived this long without it. If you haven't seen a picture of a star-nosed mole, maybe you don't understand the full extent of the danger. And while he may spend his evenings alone, he's certainly not the only species doing so.
