Information for Nurses
Wings of Mercy can provide flight nurses for a Wings of Mercy mission if needed. These may be Registered Nurses (RNs), LPNs, BSNs, EMTs, PAs or other medically trained personnel.
Most of our pilot's planes are 4 or 6 seat, non-pressurized general aviation aircraft. Getting in and out of one may be compared to getting in and out of the back seat of a car. Therefore, all passengers must be able to sit for the duration of the flight and wear a seat belt. Because most planes are not pressurized, some patients may find that their medical condition may become exacerbated. A flight nurse may be able to help with these situations.
